Learning outcomes
By the end of Level 3, students will: 1. be able to clearly demonstrate coherent and detailed subject knowledge and professional competencies some of which will be informed by recent research/scholarship in the disciplines of English and Film Studies. 2. be able to deploy accurately standard techniques of analysis and enquiry within the disciplines of English and Film Studies. 3. be able to demonstrate a conceptual understanding which enables the development and sustaining of an argument Skills Learning OutcomesBy the end of Level 3, students will: 1. be able to deploy a diverse range of appropriate methodologies in a rigorous manner 2. be able to engage in sophisticated analysis, alongside deep evaluative and lateral thinking 3. be able to carry out an extended piece of work or project, using a range of conceptual tool and methodologies
Assessment
The Subject Specific and Skills Learning outcomes can be met through the three core modules, regardless of optionality. The core modules embed a variety of alternative forms of assessments, including reflective logs, portfolios and group presentations, preparing students for diverse modes of assessment later in the programme. Forms of assessment differ across the option modules, with an emphasis on different types of coursework.
