Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the year, students will be able to:1. Explain what Sustainability means to different people in different contexts. 2. Explain the complexity of the physical, social, economic and institutional factors at the interface between business activity and the environment, drawing on key concepts from relevant literature and real-world examples.3. Interpret environmental and social data and use it to articulate a structured and coherent argument.Skills Learning OutcomesOn successful completion of the year, students will be able to:1. Communicate complex concepts and arguments clearly and effectively.2. Work effectively in a team; building relationships with peers and delivering projects together.3. Reflect on and manage their learning; using assessment feedback to assess areas for improvement, and managing their time effectively to meet deadlines.
Assessment
Assessment is designed to support the learning process. Students will demonstrate their understanding of key sustainability concepts and their development of academic skills through a variety of assessed tasks that may include:• written scientific reports or essays,• group presentations delivered to peers and staff,• multiple-choice tests, and• online exams.Feedback is used for students to reflect on their understanding and skills and identify future development needs.
