Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this level of study you will be able to:

1. Demonstrate advanced, critically informed knowledge of a topic within the fields of cultural studies and the history of art through independent research
2. Articulate complex historical relationships between artistic/cultural production and wider social frameworks
3. Identify and reflect on the place of detailed subject knowledge in the above areas within wider ethical and political conversations, both locally and globally


Skills Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this level of study you will have acquired the following skills:

1. Advanced academic writing
2. Research for sustained independent projects
3. Enquiry-based and self-reflexive learning

Assessment

Assessment at Level 3 takes varied forms, depending on specific requirements of your different modules. This will include a substantial, independently developed dissertation. In addition, for other modules, assessment will include different kinds of written assignment, and may also involve any of the following: presentations, group work, exams, and innovative practice-led approaches. Assessment is led by principles of relevance, fairness and inclusivity, and the development of vital skills beyond university, such as problem-solving, adaptability, self-reliance and reflexivity.
