Learning outcomes

1. To apply knowledge of the core chemical engineering concepts and systems thinking to solve complex and open-ended problems.
2. To design a chemical process to address business, environmental and societal needs that is informed by systems thinking, codes of practice and industry standards.
3. To select and apply appropriate materials, equipment, engineering technologies and processes, recognising their limitations.
4. To understand and apply knowledge of engineering management principles including risk and quality management, and the commercial context.
5. To undertake advanced experimental work, critically analyse resulting data and communicate the findings in a professional manner.
6. To adopt an inclusive and reflective approach to engineering practice and undertake self-learning as the foundation for CPD.

Assessment

You will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and may include written examinations, in-class and online tests, problem sheets, assignments, and coursework in the form of projects, reports, presentations and posters.
