Year 3

Learning outcomes

1. To develop student initiative and personal skills such as communication, teamwork, problem
solving, decision making, initiative and creativity.
2. To consolidate and complement aspects of the academic programme carried out at the University.
3. To enhance the students awareness of the work environment in both a professional and social
context.
4. To assist students to assess and develop their career focus.
5. To maintain and develop links between the University, employing organisation and the community.
6. On completion of the year students should be able to:
- apply concepts and principles in well-defined contexts, showing judgement in the selection and application of tools and techniques;
- develop an understanding of the differences between work in a university setting and in industry.
