Learning outcomes
On completion of level 0 students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of :-Basic theoretical approaches to management, innovation and enterprise, marketing, accounting and human resource management; -The main ethical issues associated with business management and different ways in which these are approached;-Key aspects of the global dimensions and impact of business practice and recognition of the cultural settings and impact of business in the UK;-How to use basic generic and subject-specific intellectual qualities to -Communicate the results of their work,-Present a structured and coherent simple argument-Interpret and evaluate some basic concepts and principles of the study of business management,-Present qualitative data and financial information;-Their strengths and weaknesses as learners
Transferable (key) skills
Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:-ability to analyse and critically evaluate basic issues in business management;-academic skills required for basic enquiry along with the ability to communicate information, understanding, arguments and analysis in a variety of forms;-ability to plan for their own personal and professional development .
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:-opportunity to demonstrate understanding of relevant concepts and theoretical perspectives in business management;-use of a range of formats for assessed work that develop skills of effective communication for an academic setting;-encouragement to explore new ideas and to test and evaluate received opinion.
