Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this year, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate a familiarity with the basic concepts of sustainability, incorporating the environmental, social, and economic aspects of sustainability 2. Evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to environmental problems, using examples and understanding from both natural and social sciences 3. Use environmental and social data to support coherently structured arguments Skills Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this year, students will be able to: 1. Critically interpret and evaluate concepts and principles from both the natural and social sciences 2. Demonstrate research skills and the basic evaluation of data 3. Understand and demonstrate the skills needed to become an independent learner
Assessment
Achievement will support learning and be used to allow students to demonstrate the skills and standards required of them. Assessed tasks will vary across modules but could include individual written work, group work, and presentations. These will enable students to demonstrate their competency in both single-discipline and interdisciplinary work.
