Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this year, students will be able to: 1. Understand and apply state of the art and cross-disciplinary knowledge of sustainability and environmental management. 2. Demonstrate professional and research-based competencies in sustainability and environmental management, within and beyond the taught programme. 3. Engage and apply inter- disciplinary theories and methods to a range of multi-scale environmental problems and real -life situations. Skills Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this year, students will be able to: 1. Produce and communicate arguments based on conceptual understanding of, critical engagement with, and evidence from a variety of sources. 2. Undertake a substantial piece of independent study and original research demonstrating research skills such as project design, data collection and analysis. 3. Demonstrate strong written and communication skills. 4. Demonstrate self-management and interpersonal skills for independent and group learning.
Assessment
Assessments will encourage students to: * Appraise and critically evaluate existing knowledge from a range of disciplines and interdisciplinary perspectives. * Draw from a broad range of sources, information, and data, to develop and defend their own evidence-based positions, and construct theoretically and empirically based arguments. * Demonstrate their ability to conduct independent enquiry in sustainability and environmental management. * Demonstrate group and independent working; written and oral communication skills; and qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
