Learning outcomes

1. Display knowledge of a broad range of scientific approaches and perspectives on environmental issues from introductory modules in each of the natural sciences
2. Explore substantive aspects of human-environmental relations in the context of key environmental problems and debates
3. Demonstrate practical competencies in environmental analysis techniques, including field and laboratory work

Skills Learning Outcomes
1. Develop core academic skills – communication, interpersonal skills, teamwork, independent learning, scientific writing, referencing, presentation skills
2. Develop data sampling, analysis and interpretation skills
3. Develop IT skills including basic data handling and analysis and basic programming skills in Python

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of each module:

- demonstrating sound knowledge and application of substantive learning outcomes;
- demonstrating emerging abilities and competencies in transferable (key) skills.
Fieldwork is not assessed on the Environmental Science programme
