Learning outcomes

1. demonstrate a familiarity with the basic concepts, information, practical competencies and techniques which are standard features of their role in diagnostic radiography;
2. use basic generic and subject specific intellectual qualities i.e.
• be able to communicate the results of their work;
• present a structured and coherent simple argument;
• be able to interpret and evaluate the underlying concepts and principles of diagnostic radiography;
• understand the role of evidence-based practice on health care
3. demonstrate an ability to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to problem solving associated with diagnostic radiography;
4. reflect on their strengths and weaknesses as learners;
5. demonstrate an awareness of professional and disciplinary boundaries within diagnostic radiography and healthcare;
6. undertake routine radiography of the skeletal system (excluding facial bones and dental), thorax and abdomen
7. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the diagnostic radiographer

Transferable (key) skills

1. qualities and transferable skills necessary for employment related to diagnostic radiography, in particular related to routine radiography;

2. skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility and wellbeing;

Assessment

1. demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to diagnostic radiography;

2. work that covers a restricted area of the discipline, specifically routine radiography of the skeletal system (excluding facial bones and dental), thorax and abdomen;

3. demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies in other areas of practice within diagnostic radiography;
