Learning outcomes
On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to: * Demonstrate an understanding of the foundational concepts appropriate to the study of sport and exercise sciences. - These will include - anatomical and physiological concepts; - biomechanics concepts; - concepts of motor control; - psychological concepts; * Demonstrate an understanding and integration of the foundational concepts and how they are disturbed by exercise. * Develop experimental, technical and research competencies relevant to the sport and exercise sciences. * Demonstrate the ability to effectively create solutions to local challenges relevant to the sport and exercise sciences. * Demonstrate the ability to collaborate in disciplinary and interdisciplinary team environments, contributing positively and flexibly to the team’s outputs. * Communicate scientific and other information to specific audiences and in relevant formats. * Explain the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in the discipline. * Demonstrate foundation level digital competencies relevant to studying sport and exercise sciences. * Complete and reflect on workplace tasks and activities undertaken in employment in the sport and exercise sciences. * Demonstrate ethical awareness and competencies.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the programme and modules specified for the year/programme and will include: Demonstrating the knowledge and application of foundational core concepts, information and techniques relevant to sport and exercise sciences; Integrating knowledge and understanding across the discipline; Demonstrating emerging abilities, literacies and competencies. It will encompass a range of both formative and summative assessment at both module and programme level.
