1. Demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of international trade law and apply it to novel problems, real world and hypothetical scenarios.
2. Exercise advanced intellectual abilities specific to international trade law, encompassing critical analysis, systematic thinking, and comparative evaluation of legal frameworks.
3. Recognise research methods applicable to trade law, including effective use of legal and academic databases.
4. Formulate, evaluate, and articulate ideas and hypotheses in international trade law, employing effective communication in scholarly contexts.

Assessment

This programme is designed to provide you with an inclusive and authentic, programme-level package of assessment and feedback activities that will effectively scaffold learning and cultivate the knowledge and skills that you need to fulfil your aspirations. We prioritise assessment for learning by investing in practice (formative) assessment activities and providing individual feedback to help you to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills in readiness for your end of module (summative) assessments.

Each module is assessed separately, and assessments are designed to align with the programme’s learning outcomes, providing a comprehensive and authentic evaluation of your skills and knowledge. Written assignments play a central role, assessing your ability to conduct independent research, critically analyse information, and articulate complex ideas. Such assignments encourage in-depth engagement with module content, demonstrating advanced understanding and engagement with current issues and research in the field.

At the culmination of your studies, you will carry out a dissertation in a research area of your choice. This significant piece of research work will provide an opportunity for you to showcase your ability to synthesise information, critically evaluate contemporary debates, and articulate your findings comprehensively.
