Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this programme, you will be able to: - outline key theoretical approaches in media and communication and apply them to a variety of media texts - critically analyse complex problems in the advanced study of media and communication - evaluate a range of research techniques and methodologies in the field of media and communication, and apply them in your research - independently design and develop a group research project centred around a critical issue within the field of media and communication Skills Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this programme, you will be able to: - Critical thinking skills – the ability to critically evaluate the state of knowledge in media and communications studies. - Teamwork/collaboration – work effectively with colleagues as part of a team to research a critical issue in media and communication in depth. - Communications skills - apply advanced oral and written communication skills to present a coherent and sustained argument on media and communication scholarship, based on your research findings.
Assessment
Assessment in the MA Communication and Media takes a range of forms, including the completion of a 12,000-12,500 dissertation, literature reviews, essays, group presentations and individual research proposals.
