MA Performance Design(Part-Time)

Year 1

Learning outcomes

On completion of the programme students should have shown evidence of being able to:
1. Articulate the cultural, social and aesthetic opportunities and challenges of contemporary Performance Design
2. Critically evaluate contemporary practice and theory in scenography as a frame of reference for their own creative development
3. Develop and present original and experimental design-led performance
4. Conduct independent research that responds to issues in the field of scenography

Skills Learning Outcomes
1. Incorporate ethically aware and globally diverse perspectives in ther work.
2. Reflect on their personal strengths/areas for development and extend your skills in design and creation of performance as part of continuing professional development
3. Work collaboratively and creatively within constraints of time and available resources
4. Communicate their intellectual and creative ideas effectively using a range of media
5. Develop capacity for research rigour

Assessment

We use a combination of assessment methods to capture the range of ways that students learn on the programme:
Essay, visual/verbal presentation, public performance, portfolio and viva voce, research project (essay or essay + practice-led research documentation)
