Learning outcomes
1. Demonstrate in-depth, specialist understanding of concepts at the forefront of ecological and conservation research.2. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of research principles and methodologies applicable to a contemporary issue in ecology and conservation by carrying out novel research, including project planning, execution and reporting.3. Critically evaluate current issues in ecology and conservation, including a review of the literature and integration of concepts underpinning current ecological and conservation research.4. Undertake advanced data analysis, interpretation and problem-solving demonstrated during self-driven research.5. Demonstrate an enhanced ability to communicate research data and ideas in a variety of formats and to a variety of audiences.Skills Learning Outcomes As defined in the modules specified for the programme, students will have had the opportunity to acquire the following abilities:1. Assessment
We use a variety of assessment methods to help you develop and assess the specific learning and skills outcomes. At level 5 these may include assessed practical work, involving safety competencies advanced practical skills, complex data handling and statistics, together with problem-solving exercises, multiple-choice tests, group work, essays, project work and oral presentations. There will be opportunities to complete practice questions and receive feedback to support learning.
