Learning outcomes

1. Demonstrate in-depth, specialist knowledge and mastery of techniques relevant to Medical Engineering and/or to demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of concepts, information and techniques at the forefront of Medical Engineering;
2. To demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of techniques applicable to their own research or advanced scholarship;
3. To take a proactive and self-reflective role in working and to develop professional relationships with others;
4. Proactively formulate ideas and hypotheses and to develop, implement and execute plans by which to evaluate these;
5. Critically and creatively evaluate current issues, research and advanced scholarship in Medical Engineering;
6. Appreciate the importance and requirements of leadership in a multidisciplinary environment;
7. Demonstrate an awareness of quality systems and management, risk analysis techniques, economic considerations, health and safety and legal, statutory and contractual obligations and ethical issues relating to Medical Engineering.

Assessment

Achievement may be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and may include written examinations, in-class and online tests, problem sheets, assignments, and coursework in the form of projects, reports, presentations and posters.
