Learning outcomes

1. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of: social inequality, its patterning, character, causes and consequences; forms of resistance to social inequality; and policy responses to social inequality
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which social inequality manifests across diverse communities at the national and global levels
3. Evidence a working knowledge of more general methodological perspectives and research methods within social sciences and advanced knowledge of how to undertake ‘critical inquiry’ and ‘critical research’

Skills Learning Outcomes
1. Work independently through self-directed learning, managing both time and resources effectively; work collaboratively as part of a group
2. Communicate effectively to a diverse audience through employing a range of both oral and written techniques
