Learning outcomes

1. Demonstrate in-depth, specialist knowledge and mastery of the basic scientific principles and techniques that underpin Medical Engineering
2. Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of concepts, information and techniques at the forefront of Medical Engineering;
3. Recognise the complex multidisciplinary nature of the Medical Engineering and the need to engage all stakeholders through the research phase and beyond;
4. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of techniques and tools necessary for the advancement of Medical Engineering and the role of protocol and standards;
5. Be able to comprehend the clinical challenges within a given subject area and develop, execute and disseminate research associated with overcoming this challenge;

Assessment

Achievement may be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and may include written examinations, in-class and online tests, problem sheets, assignments, and coursework in the form of projects, reports, presentations and posters.
