Learning outcomes
1. - demonstrate an understanding of the main principles, techniques and issues in transport planning and engineering;2. - demonstrate an understanding of the principles of engineering design as they apply to highway and public transport infrastructure;3. - demonstrate competence in the identification, collection, management and analysis of a range of data related to transport and its interaction with the environment, society and the economy;4. - demonstrate a competence in transport modelling techniques;5. - identify and understand the application of the most appropriate instruments of transport planning and engineering to specific transport problems and projects;6. - specialise in selected aspects of the field, gaining deeper knowledge and advanced skills which can be applied in practice;7. - demonstrate awareness of advanced skills and their practical application in possible future employment in the transport sector or in further study or research;8. - work effectively in interdisciplinary teams on cases and problems relating to transport planning and engineering;9. - plan and conduct an independent research or design project on a topic related to transport.Skills Learning OutcomesMasters (Taught) students will have had the opportunity to acquire skills in the following categories as defined in the modules specified for the programme:1. Assessment
The learning outcomes for the programme have been designed in conjunction with the learning outcomes of the modules. Each module comprises a balance of assessment of understanding of core principles, critique of practice and demonstrably applying the core principles to real-world challenges. A range of traditional (Online Time Limited Assessments, essays) and authentic assessments (e.g., reports) are used.
