Learning outcomes
On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to: 1. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of specialised knowledge in regional MSK disciplines; 2. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the connections between the key disciplines that underpin MSK medicine; 3. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the acute and chronic responses of the human body in particular the anatomical and physiological changes to injury and rehabilitation, as well as acute maladaptive responses leading to injury; 4. Demonstrate an awareness of and ability to manage the implications of ethical dilemmas and work pro-actively with others in the MDT to formulate solutions whilst strictly adhering to professional codes of conduct in musculoskeletal medicine; 5. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the fundamentals of rehabilitation based on key MSK principles; 6. Evaluate contemporary issues and research and be able to synthesise information relevant to the practice of musculoskeletal medicine.

Assessment
- demonstrating the ability to apply breadth and/or depth of knowledge to the MSK medicine specialist area; - drawing on a range of perspectives on MSK medicine; - evaluating received opinion; - making sound judgements whilst understanding the limitations on judgements made in the absence of complete data.
