Learning outcomes

For Study Abroad Students
On completion of the year you will have provided evidence of being able to:
- demonstrate their ability to cope with a significant change in their environment and to adapt to a new culture;
- broaden their understanding and knowledge of new subjects;
- broadened their knowledge in specific areas of Electronic and Communications Engineering and/or related subject(s);
- gain a deeper understanding of the country in which they are studying (for example, its culture, history and politics).

OR

For Horizon Year Abroad Students
On completion of your international year you will:
- have an improved understanding of the culture of another country, reflecting on similarities and differences to your home culture;
- have engaged with a new environment whilst demonstrating attitudes to operate effectively as a global citizen.

Transferable (key) skills

Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:
- skills of adaptability and cultural flexibility;
- skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility and decision making
- enhanced communication skills, using another language (where appropriate).

Assessment

The form of assessment will vary depending upon the institution selected for the International year.
